Nucleo Milenio MIGRA’s director, Raimundo Undurraga, was interviewed on El Ciudadano regarding migration policy in Chile. In this conversation, he commented on the available data and comparative experiences from around the world regarding the most successful ways to handle migration. In this interview, he highlighted the economic and demographic contributions that migration has countries, claiming that “the evidence has proven that migration is key to the development of countries”. That is why he stressed the need to move from a moral phase of the debate, where we argue over who is “good” and who is “bad”, to a rational phase, where we accept migration will happen, establishing a number of migrations we will receive.
