MIGRA’s Policy Forums are designed as open spaces for dialogue between academia, policymakers, and civil society, with the goal of translating research into meaningful social and political impact. These forums address key challenges related to migration in Chile, fostering evidence-based discussions that bridge scientific knowledge and public action.

Policy Forum

The first Policy Forum was held on November 7, 2024, in Arica, organized by the Millennium Nucleus MIGRA and the General Directorate of Community Engagement of Universidad de Tarapacá (UTA). The event brought together municipal authorities, consular representatives, researchers, and NGOs to discuss migration, integration, and coexistence in northern Chile—a critical region for understanding cross-border dynamics.

MIGRA’s Policy Forums are a key component of its outreach strategy, strengthening ties between research and practice. The next forum is planned for 2025 in Santiago, continuing the mission to promote inclusive and informed debates on migration and its societal impacts.
